Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced, operationally sharp Human Resources Manager to serve as the HR backbone for our company. This is a hands-on role that spans the full HR lifecycle — from recruiting and onboarding to compliance, employee relations, and performance management — across our California and Texas locations. The right person brings both the depth to handle complex HR issues and the flexibility to operate in a growing, fast-moving healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Lead full-cycle recruiting for clinical, administrative, and operational roles across CA and TX
- Partner with program directors and department heads to define hiring needs and timelines
- Manage offer letters, background checks, credentialing coordination, and onboarding workflows
- Maintain an organized, consistent onboarding experience that sets new hires up for success
Employee Relations & Culture
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee concerns, performance issues, and workplace investigations
- Coach managers on documentation, corrective action, and handling sensitive personnel matters
- Foster a positive workplace culture aligned with our values and mission
- Support employee engagement initiatives and retention strategies
HR Compliance & Policy
- Ensure ongoing compliance with California and Texas employment law, including wage and hour, leave of absence (CFRA, FMLA, ADA), and anti-discrimination requirements
- Maintain and update the employee handbook and HR policies to reflect current legal requirements and organizational needs
- Manage HRIS data integrity, personnel files, and required documentation
- Coordinate with legal counsel on complex HR or employment matters as needed
Benefits & Compensation Administration
- Administer employee benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, 401k, etc.) and serve as employee liaison with benefits brokers
- Oversee open enrollment processes and ensure timely, accurate employee communications
- Support compensation benchmarking and pay equity reviews
Multi-Site HR Operations
- Manage HR functions across California and Texas program locations, with awareness of state-specific employment requirements in each jurisdiction
- Travel to program sites as needed to support HR initiatives and maintain team relationships
- Partner with Operations and Finance on headcount planning, org changes, and workforce reporting
Payroll & Systems
- Collaborate with finance/payroll on bi-weekly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain and optimize HR systems and workflows to support organizational scale
Qualifications
Required
- 5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management or lead HR role
- Strong working knowledge of California employment law (required); Texas employment law familiarity preferred
- Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or a related regulated industry strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage employee relations matters with discretion, fairness, and sound judgment
- Proven track record handling multi-site HR operations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — you can draft a clear policy, deliver hard feedback, and navigate a difficult conversation
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms and standard HR tools
Preferred
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification
- Experience supporting Joint Commission or state licensed programs
- Background working with clinical staff (licensed clinicians, CCCs, behavioral health technicians)
- Experience with Paycom and BambooHR

Salary : $100,000 - $110,000
