Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify mental health conditions.
- Deliver evidence-based psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy and applied behavior analysis tailored to individual needs.
- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focused on issues such as grief, trauma (including PTSD), addiction recovery, gender identity, chronic pain management, and developmental disabilities.
- Implement crisis management strategies and crisis intervention techniques to ensure patient safety during acute episodes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate medical terminology and documentation compliant with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide specialized counseling for children, adolescents, geriatrics, and patients with autism or disabilities within outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care using ICD coding and CPT coding standards; support clinical research initiatives when applicable.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field; licensure welcome but not required.
- Proven experience with psychotherapy techniques including motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, psychopharmacology coordination, and crisis management.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations such as children, families, individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and those experiencing PTSD or grief.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, CPT coding for billing purposes, and HIPAA compliance.
- Experience delivering telehealth services using secure platforms is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in patient assessment, case management, behavior management strategies, and social work practices.
