Dining at The Melting Pot is more than a meal -- it's an interactive dining experience that typically lasts at least two hours. Many of our guests come to us for birthday, anniversaries, and other special occasions. And we aim to give them The Perfect Night Out.Our hospitality specialists play an important role in shaping the experience of each guest. They are often the first interactions guests will have, whether it’s when guests check into the restaurant or make their reservation over the phone.This is a vital position that works as directly with the public and the front of the house staff, ensuring that the team is aware of the current and expected dining activity throughout the service.The ideal candidate will have experience maintaining a warm, friendly, and personable demeanor while interacting with the public and team members in a restaurant environment.This is a tipped position.Hospitality Specialist Responsibilities· Greet guests when they come in the doors· Answering phones/returning voicemails and texts· Taking/managing reservations· Provide accurate wait times when necessary· Coordinate with management about seating options· Coordinate with SAs to make sure tables are clean and ready when needed· Seat guests to correct tables· Maintain a clean lobby, including desk, windows, and doors· Cater to guests who need extra attention (e.g. elderly people, children)· Familiar with food and beverage offerings· Thank guests upon departureRequirements and Skills· Food handlers’ card for the state of California· Understanding of restaurant etiquette· Demonstrable hospitality skills· Excellent communication skills (phone and in person)· Strong organizational skills· Fluency in English (spoken and reading and writing)· Availability from afternoons until 9:30pm (subject to change)· Physical ability to walk and stand for an entire shift· Reliable transportation to and from work· Nights, weekends and holidays are required
