Optometrist Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive eye examinations for veteran patients.
- Diagnoses and manage ocular diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records and complete documentation promptly
- Educate patients on eye health, disease prevention, and treatment compliance
- Follow VA policies, HIPAA regulations, and federal healthcare standards.
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Current state optometry license
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
- Experience with electronic health records preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with veterans, geriatrics, or low-vision patients is a plus
- Ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting
- Part-time flexible schedule (1-2 days per month).
- Outpatient clinic or VA medical center environment
- Percentage Pay Option: 35% - 40% of collections (around $1050 - $1200 per visit for 25 patients)
- Per patient Option: $40-$45 per patient (22-25 patients per visit)
- All doctors are 1099 (independent contractors)
