Job Overview
Join our dynamic Gastroenterology Office as a Patient Care Coordinator, where you will be the friendly, organized face of our medical practice. In this vital role, you'll coordinate patient appointments, manage medical records, and serve as a key communication link between patients and healthcare providers. You will assist the providers by gathering patient records, procedure and pathology reports. Finally, you will room the patients, obtain basic vital signs, and gather medical, surgical, allergy, and medication history. Other responsibilities may include preauths for medications/procedures as needed.
4 day work week with work life balance
Incentive bonus based on qualifying metrics in addition to salary
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in procedures to create a welcoming environment
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using medical office software
- Collect and update patient information accurately, including insurance details and medical histories
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding appointment details, test results, and follow-up instructions
- Maintain organized medical records in compliance with privacy regulations and office policies
- Support healthcare providers by preparing examination rooms and managing clinical documentation, intake of patients prior to their visit with the providers.
- Handle administrative tasks such as answering phones, responding to patient inquiries, and managing correspondence
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a medical or dental office setting is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately interpret clinical information
- Proven ability to provide excellent medical administrative support with attention to detail
- Office experience demonstrating proficiency in scheduling software and record management systems
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
