Join our BUSY GASTROENTEROLOGY OFFICE in beautiful Monmouth County as a Medical Assistant, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. Work Life Balance Position with 4-day work week Mon- Thurs from 8 am to 5 pm. This energetic position involves supporting physicians and healthcare providers by performing clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and enhancing the patient experience. Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately.
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to support accurate diagnoses.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort throughout their visit.
- Support clinical procedures including medication administration, wound care, basic X-ray imaging, and assisting with minor surgical procedures in outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently by entering data, updating patient charts, and ensuring confidentiality.
- Perform basic laboratory tasks like specimen collection and processing to facilitate timely diagnostics.
- Support administrative functions such as appointment scheduling, insurance verification, ICD coding for diagnoses, preauthorization for procedures / medications and maintaining organized patient files.
- Collaborate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams in hospital environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Assist in emergency situations within urgent care or emergency medicine settings by providing vital support aligned with Basic Life Support (BLS) protocols.
- Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment by adhering to infection control standards and safety protocols.
Skills
- Knowledge of outpatient medical practice preferred and the ideal candidate should have 5 years of experience in medical care.
- Proficiency with EHR systems for accurate documentation and efficient workflow management.
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to patient interaction and intake processes.
- Solid understanding of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, ICD coding, and medication administration techniques.
- Experience working in office-based outpatient setting preferred
- Ability to perform clinical tasks including vital signs measurement, specimen collection, and patient call backs for results.
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36.0 per week
