Summary
Function as Program Assistant within CAPS. Broad job duties include supporting research units within a research program in CAPS focused on regulatory and data management and research organization.
Primary Responsibilities
40%- Regulatory and Data Management
- Work with faculty lead to develop, maintain and implement the standard operating procedures for research implementation across the life span of a research project.
- Support data management for new and existing study protocols and funded research grants including survey development, research file development, audit completions for all study related files, data base and log development and maintenance.
- Build, update, and maintain study databases in REDCap.
- Support regulatory management under the supervision of the faculty lead for research submissions to the Institutional Review Board.
40%- Research Administration
- Organize and prepare status reports, project reports, and other types of information regarding research activities.
20%- Support CAPS and assist in community engagement efforts.
- Assist with onboarding Trainees (research program staff, summer students, apprentices, etc.)
- All other duties as assigned.
- Provide guidance on regulatory and study team procedures and provide back-up support for the study teams and program assistants recruiting participants for studies.
- Conduct regularly scheduled audits on research material and data and compile audit results reports for study participants.
- Assist in organizing action plans, guidelines, and health education information.
- Work with study teams to maintain research procedures across the lifespan of a research protocol.
- Assist with inventory management of study equipment and processing of damaged equipment as needed.
Knowledge – Skills – Abilities
Knowledge of quality control, customer service standards, information management, procedural process, and recordkeeping. Computer, technical, interpersonal, oral communication, listening, and patience skills.
Qualifications
Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.
Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree
Minimum Required Experience: 1 year
Certification: CITI Training within 90 days of hire
Physical Requirements
Work requires occasionally lifting moderate weight materials, standing, or walking continuously.
Work Environment
Occasional exposure to dust, noise, temperature changes, or contact with water or other liquids. Work is performed in an environmentally controlled environment.
Sensory Acuity
Ability to detect and translate speech or other communication required. May occasionally require the ability to distinguish colors and perceive relative distances between objects.
