Manager - Mental Health Technicians (MHTs) - Full-Time, evening shift 3pm-11:30pm

This opportunity is full-time evening shift 3pm-11:30pm, typically Monday thru Friday, with some weekend coverage as need.

The MHT Milieu Manager is Responsible for supervising all aspects of the facilities Mental Health Technicians. The MHT Milieu Manager regularly ensures the safety and security of the facility at all times by monitoring the movement of the units, ensuring programming is followed, and supporting direct care staff. Responsible for the implementation and adherence to policies, procedures, managing staff performance through coaching and supervision, execution of performance reviews, improvement plans, and corrective actions. The MHT Milieu Manager actively works to support the facility mission and treatment team for providing a safe environment. The MHT Milieu Manager is a member of the interdisciplinary team who assists in total patient care through implantation of appropriate therapeutic approaches within the therapeutic environment. The MHT Milieu Manager provides direct patient care under the supervisors of a Registered Nurse. The MHT Milieu Manager is additionally responsible for the implementation of education, training, and orientation programs.

The Meadows Psychiatric Center is the leading behavioral health treatment facility in Central Pennsylvania. We are located a short distance outside State College, PA. The Meadows is a 119 inpatient behavioral health hospital and has been providing comprehensive services to children, adolescents, adults and older adults for over 35 years.

The Mental Health Technician functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction and role modeling to patients ranging in ages from adolescent through geriatrics.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responds to patient crisis events accordingly using de-escalation techniques.
• Leads activity groups for patients according to the program schedule
• Conducts patient observation rounds throughout the shift to ensure safety
• Supervise patients in daily activities and assist treatment team with patients to provide therapeutic activities
• Document patient behaviors, condition, & progress
• Monitors visitation regarding patient safety.

Mental Health Tech Job Requirements:

• A minimum of a High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Post-secondary training or education in related field with experience preferred.
• Position also requires excellent verbal communication skills; ability to remain calm in dynamic environment; commitment to providing a high level of care to patients of all ages, excellent customer service skills and a reliable & dependable attendance to work profile.
