This position offers an engaging opportunity to work overnight shifts while making a positive impact every night.
Duties
- Monitor residents’ safety and well-being throughout the overnight shift, responding promptly to their needs and concerns
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to track health status
- Administer medications following prescribed schedules and document all medication administration in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Support residents experiencing dementia or memory care needs through behavior management techniques and personalized engagement strategies
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control protocols are followed
Qualifications
- Prior experience in long-term care settings such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities is highly preferred
- Knowledge of caring for individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia is essential
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as medication administration (CCG)
- Experience working with residents’ (personal preferences) to provide personalized care tailored to individual needs
- Familiarity with assistive devices like Hoyer lifts and mobility aids is beneficial
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare team members
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts while maintaining high standards of safety and compassion
