Position Summary
The McKinnon Company is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our delivery, warehouse, and operational teams. This position is focused on people leadership, accountability, coaching, and ensuring employees have the tools and support needed to succeed.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can effectively manage and develop employees, drive performance, maintain safety standards, and step in to support warehouse operations when needed. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced beverage distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Directly manage and develop delivery, warehouse, and operations employees.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance management to ensure team success.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Address employee concerns and work proactively to resolve operational challenges.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT regulations, and safety standards.
- Coordinate staffing needs and assist with workforce planning.
- Partner with leadership to improve operational efficiency and service levels.
- Monitor fleet and delivery operations to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Serve as a backup within warehouse operations as needed, including operating a forklift and assisting with loading activities during staffing shortages, vacations, or peak business periods.
- Maintain a visible presence throughout the operation and provide hands-on leadership.
Qualifications
- Previous management or supervisory experience required.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and hold employees accountable.
- Forklift certification or prior forklift operating experience required.
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and team-building skills.
- Experience in logistics, beverage or grocery distribution, or warehouse operations preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational software systems.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Relevant education such as an associate or bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, logistics, or equivalent experience.
