Dietary Technician
Rate: $20- $22/hour (depending on experience)
Shift: Full-Time
Garden Gate Health Care Facility is looking to add a Dietary Technician to its team. In this role, you’ll support resident nutritional care by assisting with assessments, care planning, meal monitoring, and dietary documentation. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with nutritional assessments, dietary histories, and documentation for new admissions
- Monitor resident meal intake, weights, nutritional supplements, and laboratory values, identifying concerns and trends
- Review and update dietary care plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and nutritional records
- Verify physician diet orders and document dietary changes in the medical record
- Communicate nutritional recommendations and resident concerns to nursing staff, the Dietitian, and the Food Service Director
- Conduct meal rounds and observe residents during meals to evaluate dietary interventions and nutritional status
- Assist the Food Service Director and dietary staff as needed to support resident care and dietary operations
- Participate in care plan meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and interdisciplinary team meetings
- Chair meetings in the Registered Dietitian's absence as appropriate
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum education requirement: Associate's Degree in Nutrition or related field; Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or related field preferred
- Minimum experience requirement: 1 year working in food service; 3 years working in food service in a skilled nursing facility preferred
- Registered Dietetic Technician credential required
- Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong computer skills, including experience with spreadsheets, databases, and word processing programs
- Knowledge of nutrition principles, dietary care planning, and food service operations
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
