What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifestyle Division Director position at THE MCGEE GROUP?
We are seeking an entrepreneurial, results-driven leader to oversee and grow our Lifestyle Division, focused on reading glasses, non-prescription sunglasses, and accessories.
This role owns the commercial strategy and execution across gift retailers, outdoor retailers, Amazon, QVC, and off-price channels. The Director will work cross-functionally with product development, operations, marketing, and our Inside Sales Department.
The ideal candidate blends traditional retail instincts, sales leadership, and eCommerce fluency, with a strong understanding of branded/fashion consumer products.
Position Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Own the P&L and growth strategy for the Lifestyle Division.
- Develop and execute an omnichannel sales strategy across wholesale, Amazon, off-price, and D2C.
- Identify opportunities to scale volume while protecting brand positioning and margins
- Partner with leadership to set annual sales goals, forecasts, and growth initiatives
Specialty Retail & Inside Sales
- Lead the strategy for gift and outdoor specialty retailers, using inside sales as a primary outreach and growth channel.
- Collaborate closely with the internal Inside Sales Team to define target accounts, outreach strategy, develop programs, promotions, and seasonal selling plans;
- Work closely with Marketing to develop outreach programs and campaigns.
Amazon & Digital Commerce
- Own the Amazon channel strategy.
- Seller Central management: Product listings, pricing, promotions, and content strategy
- Coordination with advertising, inventory, and forecasting efforts
Oversee DTC website performance
- Assortment strategy and merchandising
- Promotional cadence and pricing strategy
- Coordination with marketing and fulfillment teams
Product & Channel Coordination
- Partner with product development to ensure assortments meet channel-specific needs
- Guide channel-exclusive product, packaging, and pricing strategies where appropriate
- Coordinate with operations to ensure inventory alignment across channels
Key Accounts & Off-Price Channels
- Manage or oversee relationships with QVC and off-price partners (TJ Maxx / Marshalls)
- Evaluate closeout, promotional, and opportunistic sales in alignment with brand and margin goals
Required
- 7 years of experience in specialty retail, consumer products, or eyewear/accessories
- Demonstrated leadership in multi-channel sales (wholesale digital)
- Hands-on experience with inside sales models or call-center-driven sales teams
- Working knowledge of Amazon business operations (Vendor or Seller Central)
- Strong analytical mindset with experience managing forecasts, margins, and channel performance
Preferred
- Experience in eyewear, fashion accessories, gift, or outdoor lifestyle categories
- Amazon advertising or marketplace growth experience
- Experience selling into off-price and TV shopping channels
