McCrone Associates, Inc., (MA) a leading analytical and research laboratory, seeks a skilled and self-motivated individual to work as a Laboratory Assistant and Inventory Control Clerk in our chemistry labs and ISO 5 (Class 100) cleanroom facility.
The Laboratory Assistant will provide support for laboratory operations in the form of equipment maintenance and calibration, washing glassware, reagent and supply preparation and stocking, tool making, requalification of refractive index liquids, and inventory management. Under the direction of senior staff members, individuals may assist with the performance of special studies and research projects. Laboratory Assistants are expected to ensure laboratories, equipment, and supplies are maintained to meet the scientific and business needs of McCrone Associates.
Additionally, as the Inventory Control Clerk, the person in this role will be responsible for ensuring that chemical and laboratory supplies purchased by McCrone Associates, Inc. are properly received, labeled, stored, inventoried, and quarantined in compliance with established policies, procedures, standards, and regulations. This position is accountable for accurate physical inventory and maintenance of inventory tracking databases.
The applicant will preferably have some experience in a laboratory setting and have taken some college level science courses. McCrone Associates is looking for an individual with exceptional aptitude for details including accurate record keeping and the ability to multitask well. Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and databases is required.
Applicant needs to be able to lift up to 30 lbs. as well as bend, reach when needed and have the ability to use a step stool.
This position requires in-person, full-time hours at our laboratory in Westmont, Illinois. Hybrid and/or remote work arrangements are not available for this position.
