Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sales Representative with strong knowledge of land development, erosion control, and government contracting. The ideal candidate should be able to accurately bid, quote, and manage projects, build strong client relationships, and travel to various job sites as needed. This is a hybrid role — remote work mixed with on-site visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new sales leads for land development and erosion control services.
- Prepare accurate bids, estimates, and quotes, including government job proposals.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate job requirements and create professional project scopes.
- Maintain strong communication with clients from first contact through project completion.
- Work closely with field crews to ensure clear expectations and job specifications.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, walkthroughs, and government procurement events when necessary.
- Track project progress, follow up with clients, and maintain detailed records.
- Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales goals.
Requirements
- Experience in construction, land development, or erosion control sales (required).
- Strong knowledge of bidding, estimating, and quoting projects, including government contracts.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites regularly.
- Ability to read site plans, grading plans, and erosion control specifications.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently in a hybrid environment.
- Basic computer skills (CRM systems, email, spreadsheets, digital estimating tools).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with DOT, county, municipal, or federal contract bidding.
- Knowledge of silt fence, hydroseeding, BMP installation, land clearing, and site development processes.
- Existing industry network or client base.
