Responsibilities
- Safely bathe, dry, and groom pets of various breeds and sizes, ensuring high-quality standards are met with attention to detail
- Handle animals gently and confidently during grooming procedures, utilizing proper animal restraint techniques
- Assist with pet care routines including brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and de-matting to promote healthy skin and coat
- Support veterinary team members by understanding basic veterinary procedures and providing animal restraint when necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, including sanitizing tools and equipment after each use
- Communicate effectively with pet owners about grooming needs, special instructions, and any health concerns observed during bathing or handling
- Assist with pet sitting or kennel duties as needed to support overall animal care operations
- Lift heavy equipment or pets safely to prevent injury for both staff and animals
Experience
- Previous experience in pet grooming or animal handling is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and dog handling skills is a strong advantage
- Veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is beneficial for understanding animal health needs
- Familiarity with veterinary procedures or veterinary experience enhances your ability to support medical routines
- Experience working with diverse animals such as dogs, cats, or horses demonstrates versatility in animal care
- Strong customer service skills are essential for engaging positively with pet owners and team members
