Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Assist customers with operating washers, dryers, card/payment systems, and other laundromat equipment.
  • Answer basic questions regarding machine operation, pricing, store policies, and services.
  • Assist customers in resolving minor problems with machines or payment systems.
  • Notify management of customer complaints, equipment problems, safety concerns, or other issues requiring additional attention.
  • Maintain a courteous and professional atmosphere within the laundromat.

Cleaning and Facility Maintenance

  • Keep the laundromat clean and orderly throughout the shift.
  • Sweep and mop floors as necessary.
  • Clean washer and dryer surfaces, doors, detergent compartments, and surrounding areas.
  • Clean folding tables, seating areas, counters, vending areas, and customer-use surfaces.
  • Clean and maintain restrooms throughout the shift.
  • Empty trash containers and replace liners.
  • Remove lint from dryer lint traps and designated equipment areas as required.
  • Clean windows, doors, and entrance areas as needed.
  • Maintain the sidewalk, entrance, and immediate exterior areas free of trash and debris.
  • Periodically inspect the parking lot and remove visible litter or debris.

Wash-Dry-Fold Services

  • Receive and properly identify customer laundry orders.
  • Accurately weigh laundry and document customer orders.
  • Wash, dry, fold, and package customer clothing according to company procedures.
  • Keep individual customer orders separated at all times.
  • Follow customer instructions regarding detergents, fabric softeners, drying temperatures, and special handling.
  • Ensure completed orders are neat, properly packaged, labeled, and ready for customer pickup.
  • Maintain accurate records of orders received and completed.

Equipment Monitoring

  • Regularly observe washers, dryers, payment systems, vending machines, and other equipment for proper operation.
  • Report leaks, unusual sounds, error messages, damaged equipment, or other maintenance concerns to management.
  • Place equipment temporarily out of service when instructed by management.
  • Keep areas around equipment clean, dry, and free of obstructions.
  • Do not perform electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or other repairs unless specifically trained and authorized to do so.

Store Operations

  • Monitor the facility throughout the shift to help maintain a safe and orderly environment.
  • Restock laundry supplies, vending products, restroom supplies, and other materials as needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels and notify management when supplies need to be reordered.
  • Follow procedures for opening and/or closing the laundromat when assigned.
  • Complete shift checklists and communicate significant issues to the next attendant or management.
  • Follow company procedures regarding lost-and-found items.
  • Follow all company safety, security, sanitation, and customer-service procedures.
  • Perform other reasonable duties associated with operating and maintaining the laundromat.

Qualifications

  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work with limited supervision.
  • Strong customer-service and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers and coworkers.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic ability to use electronic payment systems, tablets, or point-of-sale equipment.
  • Previous laundromat, retail, hospitality, janitorial, or customer-service experience is helpful but not required.
  • Training will be provided.

Physical Requirements

The employee must be able to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods during a shift.
  • Frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and perform routine cleaning activities.
  • Handle bags and baskets of customer laundry.
  • Lift and carry up to approximately 50 pounds, with heavier items requiring assistance.
  • Safely perform routine cleaning and restocking duties.

Work Schedule

The laundromat operates seven days per week. Attendants may be scheduled for mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on business needs.

Employees are expected to arrive on time and remain for their entire scheduled shift unless otherwise approved by management.
