Production Line Operator (Food Manufacturing) - 2nd Shift

The Production Line Operator (Food Manufacturing) specializes in assisting production operations by undertaking a variety of assignments that include but are not limited to responsible for moving supplies and finished product pallets to and from storage areas.  

Hours for 2nd Shift are from 2:00pm to 10:00pm

(Hours for 1st Shift are from 6:00am to 2:00pm)

(Hours for 3rd Shift are from 10:00pm to 6:00am)

 

Duties & Responsibilities:   

  • Moves supplies or finished product pallets to and from storage area (near work center) to production line or elevator and back according to work center requirements using fork lift truck.
  • Reads, sets up and maintains equipment to conform to specific product or work center specifications including: conveyors, robot case palletizers, case labeling systems, fork truck & hand truck, case taper, cooling tunnels, case erectors, scales, banders, stretch wrappers, tray erectors, ink jet code daters, marsh code daters, and vacu hoist.
  • Reads, performs set up and verifies all product set up instructions identified on Palletizer Information Sheet.  
  • May do the following job tasks depending on work center & product: places product cases onto pallet conveyor, stretch wraps completed pallets, band totes, and applies labels to cases or totes.
  • Uses lock out tag out as required.
  • Reports any maintenance issues and writes work orders for repairs.
  • Completes necessary paperwork and/or data entry for production and/or inventory records.
  • Adheres to all Plant Safety, Food Safety, GMP, including sanitary requirements and Standardized Work procedures.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent diploma (GED, HSED).
  • Experience working in a production environment preferred.  Food or beverage manufacturing preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to production process including conversion of weight and volume.
  • Previous forklift experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50 approximately pounds continuously.
  • Proficient interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to interact with all levels of staff.
  • Detailed oriented nature and precision is critical to ensure products adhere to designated quality and standards.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks with capability of prioritizing and planning work activities.
  • Able to maintain a clean work environment.
