Warehouse & Customer Service Specialist
Full-Time | Customer-Focused | Team Environment | Growth Opportunity
The Masonry Center, Inc. is looking for a dependable, motivated Warehouse & Customer Service Specialist to join our team.
This is an active, hands-on position for someone who enjoys working with people, staying busy, and taking pride in getting things done correctly. You'll play an important role in making sure our customers receive the right products, on time, and with the level of service they expect from The Masonry Center.
Your primary focus will be accurately picking and staging customer orders, but you'll also interact directly with customers, assist with will-call orders, help answer questions, and work closely with our sales and warehouse teams.
You don't need to know everything about tile, stone, and building materials on day one. We'll train you on our products, processes, and equipment. What we're looking for is someone with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.
What You'll Do
As a Warehouse & Customer Service Specialist, you will:
- Accurately pull and prepare customer orders for pickup and delivery
- Stage orders so they are organized and ready when customers or delivery drivers arrive
- Verify product, quantities, and order accuracy before releasing materials
- Assist customers with will-call pickups and provide professional, friendly service
- Help customers locate and identify products within the warehouse
- Communicate with sales and warehouse team members regarding orders, inventory, and customer needs
- Receive incoming materials and assist with stocking and organization
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely
- Assist with inventory counts and report discrepancies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse
- Learn our products, inventory systems, and warehouse processes
- Help resolve customer or order issues when appropriate
- Support the team with other warehouse and customer service responsibilities as needed
What You'll Learn
We believe the best employees are constantly developing their skills.
You'll have opportunities to learn:
- Tile, stone, brick, and building-material products
- Product applications and installation basics
- Inventory and warehouse systems
- Order fulfillment and quality control
- Forklift and material-handling equipment
- Customer service and communication
- How our sales, warehouse, purchasing, and delivery teams work together
Forklift certification is provided by The Masonry Center.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
- Takes pride in doing quality work
- Is dependable and shows up ready to contribute
- Enjoys working with customers and coworkers
- Has a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Pays attention to detail and understands the importance of order accuracy
- Can work independently while also contributing to a team
- Is comfortable working in a fast-paced, physical environment
- Communicates clearly and professionally
- Is willing to learn and take on additional responsibilities
- Takes safety seriously
- Has a strong sense of urgency and follows through on commitments
Qualifications
Preferred:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous warehouse, distribution, customer service, construction, or building-material experience
- Forklift experience
- Experience working with inventory or order fulfillment
No warehouse experience?
That's okay. If you have a strong work ethic, a good attitude, and a willingness to learn, we will provide training on our products, equipment, and processes.
Physical Requirements
This is an active warehouse position requiring the ability to:
- Frequently lift and move materials weighing 50 pounds
- Occasionally lift and move heavier materials
- Stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday
- Safely load, unload, and move tile, stone, brick, and other building materials
