Responsibilities → What You'll Do
Essential Functions/Primary Responsibilities:
- Support food safety and quality improvement projects through various phases of project execution.
- Collect, organize, and analyze quality and production data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Support foreign material prevention initiatives by evaluating potential sources, behaviors, controls, and verification activities.
- Participate in quality assurance activities, including production floor observations, inspections, audits, and verification activities.
- Support sanitation improvement initiatives, including Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) reviews, development of visual cleaning standards, and SSOP development or updates.
- Assist with root-cause investigations and corrective and preventive actions related to food safety and quality concerns.
- Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Operations, Sanitation, Maintenance, and other plant teams to identify and implement sustainable improvements.
- Manage assigned project activities and effectively communicate progress, findings, and recommendations.
- Support compliance with plant food safety, quality, GMP, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.
Over the course of our 12-week program, our interns will gain:
- Practical Experience : Gain hands-on experience with food safety and quality systems, including sanitation, GMPs, quality verification, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement. Learn how Quality partners cross-functionally to manage risks, analyze data, identify opportunities, and drive sustainable improvements in a food manufacturing environment.
- Professional Development : Develop your professional network by connecting with colleagues, managers, and fellow interns through social activities, volunteer opportunities, and development sessions with company leadership.

Qualification Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program with a focus in: Food Science, Food Safety, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Quality Assurance, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office® applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Willingness and ability to spend time in a food manufacturing environment and on the production floor
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately collect, organize, and interpret data.
- Familiarity with GMPs, HACCP, food safety, sanitation, or quality systems is a plus.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills demonstrated through extracurricular activities and/or work experience
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
- Action-oriented with sound judgment, integrity, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with practical execution
- Works effectively both independently and in team settings
