What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shakespeare In the Parks Production Crew position at The Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission?
Schedule
Tech Week: June 7 – June 13
Tour Dates (11-12 performances): June 14 – July 8
Load to Storage: July 9–11 (schedule TBD)
Hours: Up to 6–7 hours per day
- Transporting Stage & Equipment: Safely operate a box truck and/or sprinter van to transport stage pieces, props, and technical equipment between tour locations.
- Stage Construction & Setup: Assemble and set up staging, lighting, and sound equipment at each performance site.
- Breakdown & Pack-Up: Dismantle stage and technical elements following performances and ensure all equipment is securely packed for transport.
- Load-In & Load-Out Support: Assist with all aspects of load-in prior to performances and load-out following performances.
- Tech Week Support: Provide setup and breakdown support during technical rehearsals in preparation for the tour.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a box truck and/or sprinter van
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (50 lbs)
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Previous production, stagehand, or event setup experience preferred
