What are the responsibilities and job description for the Little Bennett Campground Positions - Seasonal position at The Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission?
Work hours vary to include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as noted below.
Provide excellent customer service in person, by phone, and by email Process campsite reservations and collecting rental fees Checking in guests by answering the gate, confirming reservations, and providing check-in materials Assist guests with making reservations in person and over the phone, and helping campers understand activities, amenities, and what to expect during their stay Responding to camper questions and concerns; escalating issues as needed Completing camp store sales using cash and card transactions Keep the store stocked, clean, organized, and welcoming Sharing information about campground activities, amenities, and policies Multitasking during busy weekends and peak times Assisting with general cleaning and occasional campground programs
Leading or assisting with programs such as pedal karts, the jumping pillow, movie nights, laser tag, arts and crafts, nature walks, and special events Making clear announcements and confidently engaging groups Greeting participants, explaining rules, and ensuring safe use of equipment Setting up materials and equipment before programs Cleaning and properly storing supplies and activity areas after use Helping maintain the main campground building, including restrooms, activity room,
supply rooms, the game room, and shared spacesProviding friendly, proactive customer service at all times
Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of approximately 91 wooded campsites, 3 bath houses, 3 Yurts, 3 Cabins, a Camp Store and Campground booth.
General campground and facility upkeep, including cleaning bathhouses, cabins, yurts, and canvas tents; setting up camper-ready tents; sweeping and mopping floors; trash and recycling removal; fire pit ash removal; transporting firewood; and light landscaping (weed eating and mowing). Attendants will report building/Campground issues to Facility Manager and keep accurate inventory of janitorial supplies and equipment.
experience preferred. On-site training will be provided. Weekdays and weekend availability. Minimum age requirement is 18 years old.
A complete background investigation will be completed prior to being hired.
