POSITION SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing and production processes. These solutions may apply new technology, implement cost reductions, and perform Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement. This mid-level position involves collaborating with senior engineers, production associates and other cross functional teams to ensure processes are efficient, cost-effective, and meet quality and safety standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Independently manage projects from concept through completion, ensuring that initiatives meet scope, timeline, and budget requirements.
- Analyze current manufacturing processes, identify inefficiencies, and use continuous improvement strategies, such as Kaizen, 5S, and Ishikawa, to boost productivity and reduce waste.
- Design and re-engineer workflows to enable scalability and flexibility.
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to integrate process enhancements and troubleshoot production challenges.
- Effectively engage key stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely execution of project goals.
- Utilize RCA tools and techniques to drive data-driven decision-making.
- Lead regular quality reviews to identify trends and opportunities.
- Identify cost saving opportunities, ensuring projects deliver tangible financial benefits without compromising quality.
- Spearhead pilot projects that test and launch new tools or practices to keep the company at the forefront of industry advancements.
- Prepare detailed process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process flow diagrams.
- Create a scalable framework that supports consistent quality and streamlined operations as the company grows.
- Act as a vocal advocate and facilitator of cultural change, promoting collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across all teams.
- Effectively balance implementing quick wins and laying groundwork for sustainable process evolution through creative problem solving.
- Lead rapid-response initiatives to address and resolve production disruptions.
- Maintain accurate records of process changes for tracking and troubleshooting purposes.
- Support the implementation of quality control measures to ensure product consistency and compliance with industry standards.
- Ensure processes comply with safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Participate in safety audits and risk assessments.
- Regularly audit implemented solutions to verify improvements are sustained.
- Expect to spend 50%-75% of the workday on the manufacturing floor.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing).
- 3 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to design fixtures and tooling in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with hands-on approach to engineering challenges.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
- Takes initiative and drives projects with minimal oversight.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
- Demonstrates understanding of the application of Lean and Six Sigma principles.
- Experience with production line setup, process development and qualification.
- Proficient in data analysis and statistical software.
- Experience with welding and powder coating processes and equipment.
- SolidWorks (or similar CAD software) knowledge.
