Position Summary
The Junior Buyer is responsible for the procurement of materials to support manufacturing processes, managing inventory levels, collaborating with suppliers, mitigating risk and exposure, and contributing to cost optimization strategies. This role requires strong decision-making, analytical, and negotiation skills to ensure material availability while driving efficiency and cost savings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Supply Chain team in sourcing materials, components, or services according to specifications.
- Issue purchase orders, follow up with suppliers and ensure on-time delivery
- Assist in evaluating supplier performance (quality, price, delivery, and service).
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment as needed.
- Maintain accurate purchase records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments to clarify requirements and resolve procurement issues.
- Help identify cost-saving opportunities and support supplier consolidation efforts.
- Contribute to data analysis and reporting on spend, supplier performance, and market trends.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field OR equivalent relevant experience.
- 1-2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or inventory management in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Acumatica, NetSuite, Epicor or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
