Purpose:
The Welder II has general responsibilities to fabricate and join sheet metal components to assemble structural forms of military components.
Job Duties:
- Use variety of gas, arc, or other welding equipment to permanently join metals to meet blueprint and planning requirements.
- Ability to be certified to various welding standards and specifications.
- Cleans parts as required to remove FOD.
- Performs highly repetitive type of welding and tacking operations.
- Uses a variety of measuring instrucments to check parts for conformance to tolerance as require.
- Responsible for the quality of the products and in reporting required Quality data.
- Performs routine daily maintenance of equipment and housekeeping duties.
- Replenish weld consumables.
Job Requirements:
- High School graduate diploma or a General Educational Development (GED) certificate is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of welding experience.
- AWS or other related weld certificate is highly preferred.
- Must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Familiarity with Military – Defense industry and corresponding standards is preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
