You will support initiatives involving overdose prevention, mobile crisis response, behavioral health, public safety, and family services. Your work will keep grant activities and reporting on track, improve data quality, and help the team understand what is working and where changes are needed.
This position combines project coordination with hands-on evaluation and analysis. It is a good fit for someone who enjoys organizing complex work, investigating data questions, and explaining findings in a way that helps people make decisions.
What You’ll Do
- Keep grant activities organized. Maintain work plans, calendars, performance targets, deadlines, and assigned responsibilities. Identify delays and coordinate follow-through.
- Develop evaluation tools and procedures. Maintain evaluation plans, measure definitions, data collection schedules, and clear documentation guidance.
- Improve data quality. Review Julota and other authorized data sources for completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and duplicate records. Coordinate corrections with responsible staff.
- Analyze program performance. Examine service engagement, response and follow-up times, referrals, treatment connections, participant feedback, and other required outcomes.
- Prepare useful reports. Create dashboards, progress summaries, and evaluation reports that explain findings, trends, and limitations in plain language.
- Coordinate grant reporting. Prepare required performance information and support SAMHSA, SPARS, and other program reporting according to assigned responsibilities.
- Support program improvement. Help the team review findings, identify service gaps, document improvement actions, and evaluate whether changes are making a difference.
- Coordinate with staff and partners. Track partner deliverables and work with program, training, and fiscal staff to gather complete reporting information.
- Strengthen documentation practices. Help staff understand data requirements and use consistent collection and documentation procedures.
- Protect sensitive information. Follow confidentiality and access procedures and use de-identified or aggregate information when appropriate.
- Support multiple funded projects. Maintain clear records of activities and work effort across assigned grants and contribute to implementation and sustainability planning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, psychology, evaluation, statistics, data science, public administration, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- At least three years of relevant experience in program evaluation, data analysis and quality assurance, grant implementation, federal performance reporting, or quality improvement.
- Demonstrated evaluation and analytical skills, including the ability to develop measures, validate data, interpret findings, and explain limitations.
- Experience using spreadsheets and electronic data systems to organize, review, and report information.
- Strong writing, project organization, attention to detail, and deadline-management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across program and fiscal functions and handle confidential information appropriately.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Experience with SAMHSA or other government-funded programs.
- Experience in behavioral health, substance-use prevention, mobile crisis, human services, or public safety.
- Familiarity with Julota, SPARS, dashboards, or comparable data and reporting systems.
Schedule and Work Environment
This position reports to TMI’s Assistant Director and works closely with program leadership, field staff, fiscal staff, and community partners.
Work is primarily office-based, with local travel for meetings, training, and evaluation activities. Occasional evening activities or approved conference travel may be required.
The initial assignment will focus primarily on the CARA and Mobile Crisis grants, with additional responsibility for other TMI-funded projects. You will validate and analyze data while direct-service staff remain responsible for documenting their own services.
