What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Supervisor position at The Marek Group Inc?
We are seeking an Accounting Supervisor to lead our day-to-day accounting operations and play a key role in keeping our financials accurate, timely, and meaningful. In this role, you’ll oversee and support the accounting team, lead month-end close activities, and partner closely with operations and leadership to ensure our numbers reflect what’s happening across the business.

Key Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary.
Supervise and support the accounting team (Staff Accountant, AP/AR as applicable)
Lead and review month-end and year-end close processes
Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports for accuracy and completeness
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results
Oversee key areas such as:
General Ledger
Inventory and cost accounting
Job costing and WIP (work-in-progress)
COGS analysis
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
Partner with operations and production teams to improve financial visibility and costing accuracy
Assist with audits (internal and external), including preparation of supporting documentation
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
Train, mentor, and develop accounting staff

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
5 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing industry
Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred
Strong understanding of:
Month-end close
Job costing and inventory accounting
Financial reporting
Experience with ERP systems (EFI Pace, SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics, or similar)
Advanced Excel skills
