Duties
- Assist patients with daily activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to promote independence and comfort.
- Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates; accurately document findings using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner.
- Support medical procedures including catheter care, wound care, and basic medication administration under supervision.
- Help with patient transfers
- Observe and report changes in patient condition promptly to nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by following infection control protocols for infectious disease care and dementia or memory care residents.
- Assist with medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in outpatient clinics, inpatient units, or home & community care settings to deliver seamless patient service.
- Support patients with behavioral health needs or developmental disabilities by providing compassionate caregiving tailored to individual requirements.
- Use EMR systems efficiently for accurate record keeping and communication among healthcare providers.
Experience
- Prior experience working in geriatrics is highly valued.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems enhances your ability to deliver efficient patient care.
- Knowledge of physiology and anatomy supports accurate vital sign assessment and patient monitoring.
- Hands-on experience with caregiving is advantageous.
- Background working with diverse populations—including children, seniors, individuals with disabilities or dementia—demonstrates your adaptability and compassionate approach.
