Mission
Fabricate and repair metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures, gauges, and machinists’ hand tools by applying expertise in tool/die design, shop math, metal properties, and machining and assembly procedures.
Your Focus Areas
- Plan & visualize: Analyze specifications from blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions; determine materials, tooling, and machines.
- Engineer the process: Compute dimensions; plan layouts; establish assembly methods and operation sequences.
- Prepare stock: Measure, mark, and scribe metal before machining.
- Machine with accuracy: Set up and run lathes, milling machines, and grinders; validate parts against specifications.
- Fixture like a pro: Lift parts manually or with a hoist; secure using vises, V-blocks, and angle plates.
- Verify rigorously: Check dimensions, alignments, and clearances with dial indicators, gauge blocks, thickness gauges, and micrometers.
- Enhance performance: Heat-treat tools or parts as required.
- Integrate systems: When applicable, connect wiring and hydraulic lines to install electrical/hydraulic components.
- Improve designs: Review existing dies/tools/fixtures and recommend construction/function modifications.
- Create from concept: Turn general descriptions into specifications for specialty tools; sketch or draw product designs.
- Collaborate: Coordinate tasks and instructions with supervisors and coworkers.
- Inspect & maintain: Inspect and measure parts; calibrate and maintain personal tools.
- Nice to have: Experience with CNC machines.
- And as needed: Other related duties as assigned.

Background We’re Seeking
- 4–10 years through trade school, vocational education, apprenticeship, and/or comparable work experience.
- Strength in: GD&T; equipment troubleshooting; troubleshooting; CAD software; G-code; M-code; manual machining; tool/die/mold repair; tool/die/mold setup; blueprint reading.
