Project Management & Leadership
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and resources, ensuring alignment with client expectations and organizational standards.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of civil engineering projects, from early planning and feasibility through design, permitting, and execution.
- Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, subconsultants, and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and timely decision‑making.
- Prepare proposals, scopes of work, fee estimates, and contract documents for new and ongoing projects.
- Monitor project progress, track milestones, and ensure on‑time delivery of design packages and submittals.
- Lead project meetings, maintain documentation, and proactively identify and resolve project risks or issues.
- Provide technical direction for site design, stormwater management, and utility design across a variety of project types.
- Conduct quality control reviews of engineering plans, reports, and calculations prepared by the project team.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as internal QA/QC standards.
- Support and guide permitting efforts, including preparation of submittals, responses to review comments, and coordination with approving authorities.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers, providing technical feedback, training, and professional development support.
- Collaborate closely with senior engineers, discipline leads, and CAD staff to deliver coordinated, high‑quality design packages.
- Foster a collaborative team environment that supports innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 10 years of civil engineering experience, with increasing responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience managing civil/site development and/or municipal projects.
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and common engineering design tools.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Professional Engineering License (preferred)
- Experience with Michigan municipal standards, agency permitting, and development review processes.
- Knowledge of hydrologic/hydraulic modeling tools (HEC‑RAS, SWMM, HydroCAD, etc.).
- Experience working directly with private developers, commercial clients, and municipal departments.
