HMI (A division of The Management Trust) Position Title: Commercial Trade Specialist – HVAC III

Location: Irvine, CA

Reporting To: VP of Operations - Commercial

Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time

Salary: $41.00/Hourly

Employee Owner Position Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and dependably Commercial Trade Specialist- HVAC III Technician. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality service, reliable installation, and preventive maintenance to our clients across LA/Orange/IE county.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform installation, service, and troubleshooting of commercial HVAC systems (rooftop units, chillers, split systems, and controls).
• Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure systems operate efficiently and within safety standards.
• Supervise and train technicians, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain accurate service records, reports, and work orders.
• Ensure compliance with state and local building codes, environmental regulations, and company policies.
• Collaborate with project managers and contractors to deliver high-quality installations on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent)
• Minimum 4 years of experience in commercial HVAC installation, service, and maintenance.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
  
  

Special Position Requirements

• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and driving record in compliance with Company policy
• Must have reliable transportation and tools
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. regularly.
• Must be able to stand, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or high places for extended periods.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Able to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Must have manual dexterity and good vision (corrected or uncorrected) to handle detailed technical tasks.
• Capable of moving and setting up heavy equipment occasionally with assistance
  
  

Schedule

• Monday-Friday from approx. 8:00am-4:30pm
• This position requires long hours to meet business needs, including being available for emergency needs
