Position Description: Step into the inviting world of The Majestic, a beloved King Street gem from 1932. Housed in a historic Old Town, Alexandria storefront. Purpose:The Assistant General Manager oversees the daily operations of a high-end restaurant, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, maintaining the highest standards of food quality, service, and ambiance, and driving profitability. This role combines strong leadership, refined hospitality, and business acumen to uphold the restaurants brand and reputation.
Position Responsibilities: Guest Experience & ServiceEnsure every guest receives attentive, personalized, and professional service consistent with fine dining standards.Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly and gracefully to ensure satisfaction.Maintain an atmosphere of elegance, comfort, and hospitality throughout the dining experience.People & LeadershipRecruit, train, and mentor front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts, and support team members. Manage people processes like manager meetings, one-on-ones, and progressive discipline. Foster a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement.OperationsOversee daily dining room operations, including reservations, seating flow, and service timing.Coordinate seamlessly with the kitchen, bar, and front-of-house teams to ensure efficiency and consistency.Monitor cleanliness, presentation, and ambiance of the restaurant in accordance with brand standards.Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.Financial & Administrative DutiesManage budgets, labor costs, and inventory control to achieve financial goals.Track sales performance, forecast revenue, and implement strategies to increase profitability.Oversee scheduling, payroll, and vendor relationships.Maintain accurate records and reports for management review. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Qualifications - Minimum 35 years of management experience in a fine dining or upscale restaurant.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a passion for hospitality.In-depth knowledge of food, wine, and beverage service.Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.Proficiency in POS systems, reservation software, and basic financial management.Provides evidence of strong leadership and ability to lead high-performing teams.
Demonstrates ability to obtain results for FOH and BOH operations consistently.Adaptable, able to change priorities and manage workloads with minimal direction.
Demonstrates ability to be proactive versus reactive.Detail-oriented.
Expert-level follow-through skills.Dependable, reliable, and highly motivated.
Communicates effectively and consistently. $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 Hourly
