The Main Line Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Member Services Facilitator who can serve in either a part-time or full-time capacity.
Job Title: Member Services Facilitator
Full Time/Part Time:
Individuals with the requisite skills seeking either full and part-time employment are encouraged to apply. This job can be structured for 25 hours per week or may be offered as a full-time role with additional benefits.
Reports to: Member Services Coordinator
Job Responsibilities:
The Member Services Facilitator is one of two individuals with this function who make up key parts of the Chamber’s Member Relations Team and is responsible for the following:
- Plays an important role in recruiting new members at a rate consistent with the goals and objectives of The Main Line Chamber of Commerce, which is focused on steady growth in membership. A particular emphasis is being placed on categories of companies that are perceived to be most able to benefit from membership.
- Attends Chamber and other business events with a goal of initiating and building new relationships, following up with efforts to ensure existing members achieve their goals and nonmembers join.
- Regularly calls and meets with prospective members to encourage them to participate and join.
- Serves as an additional point of contact for member inquiries, ensuring timely and effective responses.
- Onboarding: Meets with new members to help develop and execute an action plan that will get them engaged in a way that will help them enjoy the benefits of membership.
- Retention: Works to identify, re-engage and collect membership renewals from existing members.
- Works as part of a team to upgrade members’ investments in the Chamber in a way that helps ensure greater satisfaction while also building revenues that are vital to the organization’s ability to make a positive difference in the region.
- Responsible for building and maintaining a robust list of new member prospects that will ensure budget and personal goals are reached and exceeded. Review with manager regularly.
- Collects and processes completed applications for membership in a timely manner using the Chamber’s customer relationship management software and ensures proper follow through with member benefits.
- Responsible for knowing and being able to positively articulate chamber benefits in a professional way.
- Minimum of 60% of time spent on in-person membership sales meetings.
- Participates in Ambassador Committee meetings as needed at the direction of the Member Services Coordinator.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Proven and significant experience in sales, business development, customer service, membership services, or relationship management.
- Bachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing, or a related field preferred but not required with relevant experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills to effectively and professionally engage with diverse groups of people in both one-on-one and group settings.
- Ability to network and establish connections through business and community events.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Experience in customer retention strategies, including onboarding and re-engagement.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams to achieve membership growth and retention goals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM software for tracking membership and sales is a plus.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze member needs and offer tailored solutions.
- Availability to attend Chamber events, including for those outside regular business hours.
Compensation and Benefits for Part-Time Role:
- Compensation is hourly and commensurate with experience; bonus potential for meeting goals.
- Eligible for vacation days and personal time off with the number of days depending on duration of service. The Chamber’s official paid holidays are not paid. This position is eligible for the Chamber’s 401(k) match plan after six months of employment.
Compensation and Benefits for Full-Time Role:
- Compensation is hourly and commensurate with experience; bonus potential for meeting goals.
- Benefits include generous vacation days and personal time off days, paid holidays, health insurance, participation in a 401 (K) plan, term life insurance and AD&D coverage.
Location of and hours of work:
This position calls for a significant percentage of time spent externally at meetings. While this job includes some hybrid flexibility, the Member Services Facilitator will have an office in Wayne, PA and is expected to work primarily from that space.
The position offers flexibility on hours worked to match the winning candidate’s availability.
