Position Overview: We are seeking a highly reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Part-Time Night Auditor at our prestigious 185-room hotel in Morristown, NJ. The Night Auditor will be responsible for overseeing the hotel's financial transactions and ensuring accurate accounting of revenue during the overnight shift. This is a part-time position with night shifts primarily scheduled between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Operations:
- Conduct nightly audits of guest accounts to ensure accurate billing and resolve any discrepancies.
- Verify and balance all revenue and settlement accounts, including room charges, cash, credit card transactions, and direct bill accounts.
- Prepare daily reports detailing revenue, occupancy rates, and other financial data for management review.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting procedures and legal regulations.
- Handle guest inquiries related to billing discrepancies and provide exceptional customer service.
- Front Desk Support:
- Assist guests with check-in and check-out procedures during the overnight hours.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, concerns, and emergencies, escalating issues as necessary.
- Provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests by maintaining a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
- Complete necessary paperwork and administrative tasks to ensure a smooth transition for the morning shift.
- Security and Safety:
- Monitor the hotel premises during the night shift, ensuring the security and safety of guests and property.
- Report any suspicious activities or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
- Follow established procedures for handling emergency situations, including fire alarms, evacuations, and medical emergencies.
- Conduct routine inspections of public areas and facilities to identify and report any maintenance or safety issues.
- Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments, such as housekeeping and maintenance, to address guest requests and resolve issues efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with the morning shift staff, providing updates on nightly activities and any outstanding tasks.
- Foster a positive work environment by demonstrating teamwork, professionalism, and excellent communication skills.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in accounting, hospitality, or a related field is a plus.
- Prior experience in hotel night audit or front desk operations is preferred.
