Lynden Air Cargo is looking for an experienced Loadmaster who is a detail-oriented problem solver who ensures that the aircraft is loaded safely and efficiently, taking into account various factors such as but not limited to weight distribution, balance, and compliance safety regulations while facilitating smooth operations across the board. Additionally, the Loadmaster properly maintains the records of cargo manifests and other relevant flight operations documentation in accordance with governmental policies under the Federal Aviation Administration. Performs all assigned work in accordance with established policies and procedures as governed by Lynden Air Cargo’s Employee Handbook, LAC Loadmaster Manual, and applicable CFRs. Responsible for preparation of aircraft for loading and unloading of freight.  Determines proper weight and balance of the aircraft and loads the aircraft within limits for safe flight. Coordinates the loading and unloading activities with ground personnel. Directs all loading and off-loading of routine loads for scheduled service. Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY: Applying common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Current US Driver's License Current US Passport OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Upon completion of training, one must demonstrate ability, knowledge, and skill to qualify for the Loadmaster II Certificate of Qualification for Loadmaster. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, nights or holidays and to be away from home for extended periods (up to a total of 6 out of 12 months a year). Must be available to travel to domestic and international locations without restrictions, including entrance onto foreign military bases.  Must pass a DOT physical and obtain a medical card to operate a commercial vehicle over 10,000 pounds. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderately loud to very loud.
