The Lync is seeking to fill the role of Audiologist for a local Vero Beach, FL independent private practice. If you are in the market for a career in a boutique setting that provides concierge service to patients on the sunny coast of Florida, this could be for you!
Daily responsibilities can include diagnosing, managing, and treating hearing disorders. Working with patients of all ages to assess auditory function, provide rehabilitative services, and recommend hearing aids or other assistive listening devices. This is a full-time position M-Th, 8:45-5 and F, 8:45-3.
Examples of responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Conducting comprehensive hearing evaluations, including pure-tone audiometry and word recognition evaluation, as well as immittance measurements, when indicated
- Interpreting test results and providing treatment recommendations.
- Recommending, programming, and fitting hearing aids and assistive listening devices based on patient needs.
- Performing real-ear measurements and verification of hearing aid performance.
- Providing patient counseling on hearing aid use, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Educating patients and families about hearing loss, tinnitus, and/or auditory rehabilitation as indicated by patient presentation.
- Conducting comprehensive tinnitus assessments.
- Offering strategies for communication improvement and hearing conservation.
- Collaborating with physicians, ENTs, and other healthcare providers for medical referrals when needed.
- Identifying cases requiring medical intervention.
- Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA and industry standards.
- Staying up to date with licensure and continuing education requirements.
- Conducting hearing screenings at schools, senior centers, and community health events.
- Providing educational workshops on hearing conservation and workplace noise exposure.

Requirements:
- Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree from an accredited program.
- State licensure or certification as required by law.
- Proficiency in audiometric testing, hearing aid fitting, and aural rehabilitation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and hearing aid programming software.
- Applicant must pass background check and drug screen.
