- Associate degree in nutrition, public health, maternal and child health, or related field required.
- Certified WIC Nutrition Assistant with college coursework in maternal and child health/nutrition is accepted in lieu of associate’s degree.
- Conducts nutrition, breastfeeding/chestfeeding, and health education contacts for WIC Program applicants and participants.
- Performs nutrition and breastfeeding/chestfeeding risk assessments, including individual education and breastfeeding/chestfeeding support for low-risk women, infants, and children participating in the WIC Program.
- Conducts enrollments and certifications of WIC Program applicants and participants according to WIC program policies and guidelines.
- Distributes WIC cards in accordance to established procedures and performs clerical functions to support WIC Program site operations.
