SUMMARY
The LunchMaster is a mission-driven food service provider committed to delivering healthy, fresh meals to schools and communities. Our production facility in Hayward supports a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where quality and efficiency are top priorities.
The Pack Crew Member is responsible for accurately and efficiently packing meals according to daily production needs This position plays a critical role in preparing and packing meal orders for school and institutional deliveries. The role requires working in a cold, refrigerated environment throughout the shift to ensure food safety and quality standards are met. Attention to detail, speed, and adherence to food safety standards are critical to success in this role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Accurately pack food items and meal components into trays, containers, and crates according to order specifications and quality guidelines.
• Maintain consistent high-speed packing performance with attention to cleanliness, accuracy, and presentation.
• Ensure all items are properly labeled and packed in the correct sequence and order structure.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures, including proper glove and hairnet usage.
• Work in a walk-in refrigerator environment (temperatures ranging from 30–35°F) for the entire shift — appropriate layered clothing is recommended/provided.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, disposing of waste and packaging materials appropriately.
• Collaborate with warehouse, kitchen, and logistics teams to meet daily production goals and delivery timelines.
• Assist with end-of-shift cleanup and storage duties as needed.
• Adhere to company policies, attendance expectations, and safety protocols at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
•Previous food service, production, or warehouse experience is a plus, but not required.
•Ability to work in cold temperatures for extended periods (full shift).
•Must be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasksefficiently.
•Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
•Punctual, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
•Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
A working knowledge of the English language, both verbal and written; Spanish is a plus.
Must have the ability to interpret written and verbal requests as required. Strong oral and written communication skills coupled with the interpersonal skills are needed to create and maintain a team centered environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands of this position are typical of those found in a warehouse & foodservice setting. Some lifting will be required. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. is required.
