About the Lotus Collaborative:

The Lotus Collaborative (TLC) provides holistic eating disorder recovery services, specializing in the treatment of anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, orthorexia and disordered eating in San Francisco, CA. TLC offers a partial hospitalization program (PHP), an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and outpatient nutrition and counseling services.

(Please note: our program is offered in-person, candidates should be local to the San Francisco area)

Qualifications:

The Lotus Collaborative is looking for a part-time flex recovery counselor to join their team. Interested candidates must have achieved their B.A. or another post-secondary degree or have applicable experience. Applicants currently in master’s programs for mental health are strongly preferred. Experience working in mental health residential or other levels of care is a plus. The ideal candidate is motivated, flexible, and hardworking. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment is a must. This position is approximately 8-15hrs/ 2-3 days per week, including morning, afternoon, weekend, and on-call shifts.

Job description:

Recovery Counselors spend most of their time providing direct services to our clients with additional administrative tasks to support clinic operations and facilities management. Recovery Counselors are equipped to run skills groups, psycho educational groups, and may offer groups under a specialized discipline in which the RC is trained. RCs also provide the majority of supervised mealtime support with clients. Rc's are expected to spend 60% of their working hours providing client-facing services.

Tasks include:

  • Prepares, facilitates, and manages skills groups
  • Partners with the treatment team members in the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of Individualized treatment and care plans
  • Has excellent communication, coordination, and facilitation skills
  • Contributes to care using case management, mentoring, and coaching skills
  • Develops, maintains, and strengthens partnerships with community providers like schools, medical practices, etc.
  • Completes documentation as outlined in polices and procedures
  • Seeks support and guidance from senior counselors and clinical staff
  • Adheres to agency protocols (supervised meal guidelines, clients' attendance, etc)
  • Meets program documentation standards (group notes, meal-time notes)
  • Has strong problem-solving skills and is solution-focused
  • Develops and implements positive programming opportunities for clients

Given the nature of our clinical work, it is important that our staff have good relationships with their body and food and do not engage in rigid food or diet beliefs and/or behaviors.
