Solid Ground Transitional Recovery Housing Program

The Part-Time Evening and Weekend Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides evening and weekend support, supervision, and accountability within the Solid Ground Transitional Recovery Housing Program. This position helps maintain a safe, structured, recovery-focused housing environment for residents engaged in transitional recovery housing services.

The DSP supports residents in following program expectations, maintaining housing stability, practicing recovery-based living skills, and engaging in positive community living. This role requires strong boundaries, professionalism, consistency, and the ability to respond calmly and appropriately to resident needs, concerns, or incidents that may arise during evening and weekend hours.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide evening and weekend coverage within Solid Ground Transitional Recovery Housing.
• Promote a safe, respectful, sober, and recovery-supportive living environment.
• Monitor resident compliance with program expectations, house rules, curfews, and accountability measures.
• Complete regular check-ins with residents and document relevant updates, concerns, incidents, or progress.
• Support residents with daily living expectations, including cleanliness, shared responsibilities, conflict resolution, and appropriate communication.
• Conduct walkthroughs of housing units and common areas as assigned.
• Respond to resident concerns, behavioral issues, emergencies, or crisis situations according to agency policy and procedure.
• Communicate concerns, incidents, and updates to the Housing Program Manager, Housing Case Manager, and leadership as appropriate.
• Support residents in maintaining engagement with recovery-related activities, treatment recommendations, employment expectations, community support meetings, and case management goals.
• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
• Complete required documentation in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
• Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and required training as assigned.
• Assist with transportation, appointment reminders, drug/alcohol testing procedures, or other program-related duties as directed, if applicable.
• Model respectful, recovery-oriented behavior and encourage accountability, personal responsibility, and healthy community living.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; additional education in human services, social work, substance use disorder counseling, peer recovery, or related field preferred.
• Experience working in recovery housing, behavioral health, substance use disorder services, mental health, human services, corrections, shelter services, or residential programming preferred.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays as scheduled.
• Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to set and maintain clear professional boundaries.
• Ability to respond calmly and appropriately to conflict, crisis, or emergency situations.
• Must support a trauma-informed, person-centered, and recovery-oriented approach.
• Must pass required background study and meet agency hiring requirements.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record preferred, if transportation duties are assigned.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of substance use recovery, relapse prevention, co-occurring disorders, and transitional housing needs.
• Familiarity with community-based recovery supports, accountability structures, and harm reduction principles.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with the housing team.
• Experience supporting individuals involved with probation, courts, child protection, or other referral systems.

Schedule

This is a part-time evening and weekend position. Specific hours may vary based on program needs and staffing coverage.

Work Environment

This position works directly within a transitional recovery housing setting and may involve interaction with residents experiencing substance use disorder, mental health symptoms, legal involvement, housing instability, and other life stressors. The DSP is expected to maintain professionalism, safety, confidentiality, and consistency in all resident and staff interactions.
