Position Overview

We are seeking a clinically experienced APRN who is comfortable independently evaluating, diagnosing, and managing psychiatric conditions in an outpatient setting.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in psychopharmacology, sound clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a thoughtful, individualized approach to medication management.

Our psychiatric providers enjoy a high level of clinical autonomy while benefiting from regular opportunities for consultation and collaboration with experienced colleagues.

We value providers who are confident in their clinical skills, recognize the importance of ongoing professional growth, and appreciate the benefits of working within a supportive team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments.
  • Diagnose and treat a broad range of psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, ADHD, bipolar disorders, and complex co-occurring conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based medication management plans.
  • Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications, including controlled substances when clinically appropriate.
  • Assess treatment effectiveness, medication tolerability, safety, and ongoing clinical needs.
  • Provide appropriate patient education regarding psychiatric diagnoses, medication options, treatment expectations, and potential adverse effects.
  • Identify and manage clinical risk, including suicide risk assessment, safety planning, and appropriate referral to higher levels of care when indicated.
  • Collaborate with therapists, other APRNs, psychologists, case management, and other members of our multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in AdvancedMD.
  • Participate in clinical team meetings, case consultation, and collaborative treatment planning.
  • Contribute to a positive, professional clinical environment that values accountability, integrity, and mutual respect.
  • Participate in additional treatment services, such as Spravato, according to experience, interest, and appropriate training.

Required Qualifications

This position is specifically intended for experienced psychiatric medication management providers.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Current Utah APRN license or eligibility to obtain Utah licensure prior to employment.

  • Experience treating complex psychiatric presentations and managing patients with multiple diagnoses.
  • Competence in psychiatric risk assessment, safety planning, and clinical decision-making.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to establish therapeutic relationships with patients.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with other mental health professionals.

New graduate APRNs and applicants whose psychiatric experience is limited to student clinical rotations will not be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
  • Two or more years of independent outpatient psychiatric medication management experience.
  • Experience working with treatment-resistant depression, complex trauma, ADHD, and co-occurring psychiatric conditions.
  • Experience working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary outpatient mental health setting.
  • Familiarity with AdvancedMD or similar electronic health record systems.
  • Experience with Spravato (esketamine), ketamine-assisted treatment, or other innovative psychiatric treatment approaches.

Why Choose The Lotus Center?

We recognize that experienced mental health providers have choices about where they practice.

At Lotus, we strive to offer more than a job. We offer a professional home where providers feel respected, supported, and empowered to do meaningful clinical work.

A Truly Collaborative, Multidisciplinary Team

One of the greatest advantages of working at Lotus is the opportunity to practice alongside experienced professionals representing multiple mental health disciplines.

Our APRNs have access to therapists, psychologists, case management, a clinical chaplain, and other psychiatric providers for consultation, shared treatment planning, and collaboration.

We believe that professional collaboration enhances clinical outcomes, supports provider growth, and reduces the isolation that can accompany independent practice.

Established Patient Demand and Excellent Administrative Support

Lotus has an established reputation in the community and a substantial waiting list of clients seeking psychiatric services.

New providers benefit from an existing referral network and dedicated administrative support, including scheduling, insurance verification, prior authorizations, billing, and medical assistant services.

Our goal is to allow clinicians to focus their time and energy on providing excellent patient care rather than managing unnecessary administrative burdens.

Professional Autonomy and Clinical Excellence

We respect the education, experience, and independent clinical judgment of our providers.

Our APRNs practice with a high degree of professional autonomy while having access to experienced colleagues for consultation and support.

We encourage evidence-based practice, thoughtful clinical decision-making, continued education, and individualized treatment approaches.

Collaborative Leadership and Opportunities for Growth

Lotus is committed to a collaborative leadership culture where team members have opportunities to contribute to the direction and continued evolution of the practice.

We welcome input, new ideas, and professional perspectives from our providers.

Opportunities exist to participate in clinical program development, quality improvement initiatives, interdisciplinary collaboration, and leadership activities.

We believe that an engaged, empowered team creates a stronger organization and better outcomes for the clients we serve.

Work-Life Balance and a Supportive Practice Culture

We understand that providing excellent mental health care requires clinicians to maintain their own well-being.

Our full-time clinical schedules are designed to support meaningful patient care while allowing time for documentation, collaboration, professional responsibilities, and life outside of work.

We value a positive work environment, professional respect, open communication, and sustainable clinical practice.

Competitive Compensation and Comprehensive Benefits

Annual Salary: $115,000–$130,000 for a full-time position, depending on experience and qualifications.
