Prep Lead

Job Overview

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Prep Lead to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of prep, ensuring that all standards and safety protocols are met. The Prep Lead will report to the Production Sous Chef and assist in overseeing daily kitchen operations while maintaining a clean, organized workspace. This position is perfect for someone with strong culinary skills, leadership qualities, and a passion for culinary in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead food preparation by following recipes, portioning ingredients accurately, and ensuring consistency across dishes.
• Strict adherence to food safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of the prep area, including proper sanitation of utensils, equipment, and work surfaces.
• Receive and check-in orders; organize and rotate product.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including slicers, mixers, ovens, and other culinary tools.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks, manage time efficiently, and troubleshoot any issues that arise during food production.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards in processes and proper food handling procedures at all times.

Experience

• Prior experience in a professional kitchen is preferred.
• Experience with food preparation, cooking techniques, and recipe adherence.
• Knowledge of knife skills, slicing techniques, and proper use of kitchen equipment.
• Familiarity with food safety management practices and maintaining high standards of hygiene.
• Experience working in restaurants or catering settings that require quick turnaround times and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members.
• Demonstrated ability to follow safety standards in production while maintaining efficiency under pressure.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
