Regional Nurse Consultant (RN) – Skilled Nursing
Survey Readiness * Clinical Leadership * Multi-Facility Support
Travel Area in Illinois: Peoria, East Peoria, Canton, Eureka, Normal, Decatur
We are seeking an experienced Regional Nurse Consultant (RN) to support multiple skilled nursing facilities in achieving survey readiness, regulatory compliance, and clinical excellence.
This role is ideal for a nurse leader with strong CMS regulatory knowledge and long-term care experience who enjoys mentoring Directors of Nursing, conducting mock surveys, and improving clinical outcomes across facilities.

What You'll Do
Survey Readiness & Compliance
- Conduct mock surveys and regulatory audits
- Prepare facilities for state surveys, complaint investigations, and infection control surveys
- Assist with Plans of Correction (POC) and monitor compliance progress
- Identify regulatory risks and help facilities proactively address them
Clinical Leadership
- Mentor and support Directors of Nursing and clinical leadership teams
- Review clinical documentation and nursing practices
- Ensure compliance with:
- Infection Prevention programs
- Medication management
- Care planning and MDS processes
- QAPI programs
Quality Improvement
- Monitor key quality indicators including:
- Falls
- Pressure injuries
- Infection rates
- Hospital readmissions
- Implement performance improvement initiatives to improve outcomes
Education & Training
- Provide clinical education and coaching to:
- Directors of Nursing
- Infection Preventionists
- Nurse managers and staff nurses
- Lead training on regulatory updates and best practices
Qualifications
Required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- 5 years of nursing leadership experience in skilled nursing or long-term care
- Strong knowledge of CMS regulations and the survey process
- Experience with survey preparation and regulatory compliance
Preferred
- Previous Regional Nurse Consultant experience
- Knowledge of QAPI and quality measures
- Experience with PointClickCare

Pay: From $130,000.00 per year
