Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assist with meal assembly according to established recipes and standards
- Support the kitchen team with food preparation, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of dishes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Handle food with care, following proper food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety
- Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients needed for daily specials or upcoming events
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, mixers, and cooking appliances
- Support catering and special event setups by preparing dishes and ensuring smooth service flow
- Serve dishes promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Restaurant or food service experience demonstrating familiarity with kitchen operations and food preparation
- Culinary experience with a focus on meal preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling practices
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation procedures
- Skills in knife handling, food plating, and portion control are essential
- Experience in menu planning or assisting with menu development is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
