What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hotel Public Space Attendant position at The Lodge Red Hook?
JOB OVERVIEW: Responsible for maintaining the working order and general upkeep of the entire hotel including public and in-house areas and making deliveries to guest rooms upon request. Responsible for maintaining all standards of quality and productivity for the hotel as related to the Housekeeping operation. The Public Space Attendant will have a positive and friendly demeanor towards all, providing excellent service to hotel guests and overall representing the company in a professional manner.
REPORTS TO: Housekeeping Supervisor and The Assistant General Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential:
1. Possess a good command of the English language and can clearly and pleasantly communicate with guests and coworkers.
2. Physically able to work 8-hour shifts and to lift up to 50lbs.
3. Thorough knowledge of hotel services and facilities.
Desired:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Previous experience in the hotel industry, maintenance and/or janitorial related experience preferred.
3. Knowledge of proper chemical handling.

12. Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of all guests and general hotel information.
DAILY JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Maintain hotel performance, quality, and productivity standards at all times.
2. Use correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces, according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements and ensuring all high touch surfaces are sanitized throughout every shift.
3. Routinely cleans public areas including lobby, hallways, public restrooms, and grounds.
4. Ensure cleanliness and organization of all storage areas, service landings, vending areas, guest elevator areas, guest hallways, employee areas, housekeeping/maintenance storage closets, stairwells, etc.
5. Ensure that any necessary supply deliveries are secured in storage areas and in the designated space.
6. Receive clean linen when it is returned to the hotel and place the cart in the chute room.
7. Complete any assigned tickets in Alice.
8. Report any issues/work orders observed that cannot be completed during a shift or requires follow-up using the Alice property management system.
9. Compete the appropriate amount of preventative maintenance rooms per shift.
10. Complete the assigned checklists in Alice and ensure that all items have been completed and standards have been met including all pass along information in the comments section of the checklist.
11. Turn over any lost and found items from guest rooms/public spaces and record all information in the Lost and Found Log, including the date, room number, and time they are found
12. Answer all calls through walkie-talkie system and log in Alice.
13. Clean all offices assigned through Alice.
14. Log all alarms that occurred during the shift in the inspections comment section in Alice.
