Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Houseperson to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our hotel environment. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a welcoming atmosphere for guests while gaining valuable experience in hospitality and custodial services. Prior experience in cleaning, floor care, or janitorial work is preferred, but we welcome motivated individuals eager to learn and grow within the industry.
Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties including vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing guest rooms and public areas
- Maintain cleanliness of hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and other common spaces
- Conduct floor care tasks such as mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning to ensure a polished appearance
- Restock supplies in guest rooms and public areas as needed
- Assist with furniture moving and light maintenance tasks to support overall hotel operations
- Ensure all areas meet health and safety standards by adhering to proper cleaning procedures
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly
- Support housekeeping staff with additional duties as required to ensure guest satisfaction
- Requires Evening Work
Requirements
- Must be able to work weekends.
- Prior experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or custodial services is highly desirable; hotel or hospitality experience is a plus
- Knowledge of floor care techniques and industrial cleaning methods preferred
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and safety standards
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills and reliability
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Previous experience in housekeeping management or custodial roles is advantageous but not mandatory
- A positive attitude and commitment to providing exceptional service to guests
