The Driver will be responsible for safely transporting residents to various locations using company vehicles 30 hours per week

Description of responsibilities:
Drives vehicle from community area to destination according to assigned schedule.
Assists disabled passengers into and out of vehicle.
Secures passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during the trip.
Secures walkers to restraining devices to prevent movement during the trip.
Operates radio, cell phone or pager to communicate with base station or other vehicles to report disruption of service.
Maintains all community vehicles in good working condition.
Cleans and services vehicles with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
Assists with vehicle registration and license plates renewal process.
Inspects and documents vehicle condition on a monthly and per trip basis.
Meets all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
Provides miscellaneous pick-up and delivery services as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned
Required experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Current driver’s license is required with an acceptable driving record in accordance with Federal Department of Transportation regulations.
Required skills:
Customer service experience preferably in a senior living environment
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to react calmly in an emergency
Organization skills and good time management
Knowledge of local area including traffic patterns
