Lead Cooking Class Instructor / Culinary Manager

Job Summary
The Local Epicurean is hiring a Lead Cooking Class Instructor / Culinary Manager to oversee our instructor team and help lead the day-to-day experience side of the business. This role combines hands-on teaching with leadership, ordering, organization, and team development.
You will guide cooking classes, support and coach instructors, work closely with management, and help us continue to grow. This position is ideal for someone with a strong hospitality and leadership background who enjoys both teaching and leading a team while fostering confidence, creativity, and a love of cooking within the community.
Responsibilities
- Lead hands-on cooking classes with confidence and professionalism
- Guide guests through the cooking process while delivering a polished, guest-centered experience
- Oversee, support, and coach the instructor team
- Help train new instructors and maintain consistency across classes
- Work closely with management on goals, operations, scheduling, and growth initiatives
- Order ingredients and supplies for classes and assist with minimal store ordering
- Help maintain inventory, organization, prep standards, and kitchen systems
- Support with bar, retail, pasta production, and special events as needed
- Prep, set up, and clean up teaching spaces and kitchen areas
What We’re Looking For
- Strong culinary knowledge and guest-facing experience
- Leadership or management experience in hospitality, culinary, events, or education
- Ability to confidently lead groups, explain techniques, and manage multiple moving parts
- Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable ordering, tracking inventory, and helping create systems
- Passion for food, wine, hospitality, and team development
- Availability for weekdays, evenings and weekends
