About the Position
Little Rascals Preschool is looking for a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to help maintain a safe, clean, and well-functioning school environment. This position is ideal for someone who is available during evenings, weekends, or flexible hours when children are not present or when maintenance work can be completed with minimal disruption to classrooms.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair work around the school
- Handle minor plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, door, cabinet, and fixture repairs
- Maintain classrooms, bathrooms, playground areas, hallways, and outdoor spaces
- Inspect and repair safety-related items as needed
- Assist with furniture assembly, mounting, moving, and setup
- Complete minor facility improvement projects
- Help with preventive maintenance tasks
- Report larger repair needs or safety concerns to management
- Keep tools, materials, and work areas organized and safe
- Follow all school safety procedures while working on site
Preferred Skills
- General handyman or maintenance experience
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and facility repairs
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks responsibly
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Good communication and professionalism
- Experience working in a school, daycare, church, apartment, or commercial facility is a plus
Requirements
- Must be dependable and trustworthy
- Must be able to lift, move, bend, and perform physical maintenance tasks
- Must follow all safety procedures
- Must pass any required background checks before working around children
- Must keep children’s safety and school cleanliness as the top priority
Schedule
This is a flexible position. Most work will be scheduled during evenings, weekends, or times when the school is closed or classroom disruption is minimal.
Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
