Position Overview
The Little Lighthouse Foundation is seeking a creative, motivated, and dependable Social Media & Content Creation Intern to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a student or recent graduate interested in nonprofit marketing, social media, content creation, public relations, event coverage, and community engagement.
The ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling, enjoys creating content for social media, and wants hands-on experience helping a nonprofit organization showcase its impact throughout the community.
Responsibilities
The intern will assist with:
- Creating content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms
- Capturing photo and video content at volunteer programs, community events, and fundraisers
- Creating and editing Reels, Stories, and short-form video content
- Drafting social media captions and community impact stories
- Organizing and managing photo and video assets
- Assisting with social media scheduling and content calendars
- Promoting volunteer opportunities, programs, and special events
- Designing basic graphics, flyers, and digital invitations using Canva or similar platforms
- Supporting sponsor recognition and community partner spotlights
- Assisting with volunteer recruitment and engagement initiatives
- Attending select LLF programs and events throughout South Florida
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong interest in social media, marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or nonprofit management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn
- Experience with Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express, or similar content creation tools preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments
- Passion for community service and making a positive impact
Requirements
- College students and recent graduates encouraged to apply
- Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, and related majors preferred but not required
- Reliable transportation preferred for attending local programs and events
- Access to a computer and reliable internet connection
- Must be motivated, dependable, and passionate about community impact
Compensation
This internship is unpaid; however, LLF may provide a stipend to assist with gas, parking, and event-related expenses. College credit may also be available when approved by the student's institution.
Schedule
- Approximately 15–20 hours per week
- Flexible schedule
- Combination of remote work and in-person event/program attendance throughout South Florida
