We are seeking a dedicated and passionate School-age Teacher to join our Little Campus family. The School-Age Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for our Elementary School children ages 5–12 at The Little Campus. This role focuses on fostering social, emotional, and academic growth through age-appropriate activities before and after school, during holiday breaks, and in our summer school-age program. Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that support learning, creativity, and social skills: prepare weekly written lesson plans. Planning must be in sufficient detail to be easily followed by a substitute in the employee's absence. Lesson plans must include all areas of development (physical, social/emotional, cognitive)
- Supervise children at all times to ensure safety and well-being
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers
- Encourage respectful behavior and guide children using positive behavior management strategies
- Assist with homework and enrichment activities as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
- Follow all licensing regulations, health and safety guidelines, and program policies
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children’s progress and daily activities
- Be an active participant in all activities, such as outdoor play, daily lessons, special events, etc....
- Complete and maintain all other required documentation and records. (Ex: attendance, incidents, charts, safety checklists, classroom notes, etc...)
- Assist in assessments, evaluations, and document individual children's development
- Actively participate in staff meeting, parent meetings, in service trainings, program meetings, and team meetings.
- Be punctual and dependable. Be flexible to meet the needs of the program, which may include working in other classrooms before School-age students arrive.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional education in early childhood or education preferred)
- School-age Delaware certificate
- Experience working with school-age children
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine interest in working with children
- Ability to meet state licensing and background check requirements
- Current certification in Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) & First Aid applicable to children and adults.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent oral & written communication skills
- Ability to prepare and maintain written records
- Good time management skills
- Knowledge of child development
Required experience:
- Early Childhood Education: 1 year
Pay Frequency:
- Bi weekly
Shift hours:
We are hiring for the following : also availability for more full time hours are available.
7 am to 9 am Monday through Friday
3:00 pm to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday
Summer camp from June to August
